Saint worship is a syncretic religion founded in Latin America. Many Catholic Latinos have a saint icon near the door of their house. Some touch the icon prior to leaving the house for good luck. Some also pray to these saints for good luck. The Virgin Mary is also worshipped in this religion.
Some Saint-Worshippers practice monolatry, meaning they worship only one god, or in this case, saint. Bosconism is one of these monolatrous branches of Saint-Worship.
Saint-Worship can be found in regions other than Latin America. It is found in other Catholic countries. It can be found in Canada, Ireland, America, Guatemala, Belize, Costa Rica, Panama, France, Italy, as well as a few other countries.
